Setting new standards for all power intensive industries.

Committed to reliability, sustainability and our environment.

Recently acquired by Ugna, an investor in renewable infrastructure, Krefter is a pioneering company specialising in innovative energy solutions. With a strong focus on sustainability and cutting-edge technology, Krefter has been at the forefront of developing efficient and eco-friendly energy systems.

History and background

Krefter was founded by Oliver Horvei in 2021 with a simple goal: to convert data power exclusively to renewable energy. After some strategic differences with investors and partners, he left the company in 2022. However, in 2024, he was able to reacquire the company through the Norwegian investment company Ugna AS.

Krefter

Krefter, which means “forces” in Norwegian, symbolises our mission to harness the forces of nature to generate data power, battery capacity, and hydrogen. The first data centre was planned for Lalm, located in the Vågå Municipality of Norway. Despite delays and significant reductions in usable land, the project is still underway, albeit with necessary modifications. The company remains dedicated to building one of the world’s most sustainable cloud computing data centres in Lalm and other locations across Scandinavia in the coming years.
