Our data centre in Lalm.
The very first centre of our Norwegian expansion. NO3 LALM will be a centre with significant long-term potential, with fibre connected to Krefter hubs both in Oslo and on the West Coast, which further connects to central hubs in Europe and America through subsea cables. First stage will be ready by summer 2023.

Situated in the middle of three hydropower stations, the closest one, Eidefossen, just 500m from the plot.

Stage 1 will be ready in the summer of 2023, testing out a new naturally air-cooled solution. Stage 2 will be 100% water cooled, with the Otta river as the most likely water source (400m away).

Built with saltak (gable roof) to fit in with local building culture, with various timber elements over a steel structure.

Designed to blend in with nature, rather than disturbing it. Excess heat will be used to dry local timber and various other experimental solutions in stage 1. Stage 2 will produce significantly more heat which is being planned for now by several different players and investors.

Situated in a naturally cool area, surrounded by majestic mountains. The whole plot is roughly 135 km², with some areas dedicated to industry to reuse excess heat water.

About 100 km² of plot is currently being prepared for operation through zoning, concession applications and the highest grades of flood and avalanche protection. The centre will require substantial upgrades to the electrical grid and to fiber infrastructure.
